This book is concerned with the theory and application of fractal geometry in digital imaging. It is divided into four parts:

. Part 1 deals with the general theory of fractal
geometry and focuses attention on the theory of
random scaling fractals.

. Part II covers a fundamental inverse problem,
that of using fractals to segment images.

. Part III looks at the design of algorithms that
can be used to create or synthesize images -
painting with fractals.

. Part IV considers the inverse of the processes
discussed in part III and introduces the reader
to the role that fractal geometry plays in
image compression.

Throughout the book, a series of new approaches to
defining fractals are illustrated, such as the analysis of the fractal power spectrum and the use of fractional differentials. Several new algorithms and applications are also discussed and applied to real life images.

Fractal Geometry in Digital Imaging will appeal to postgraduates, researchers and practitioners in image processing, mathematics and computing, information technology and engineering. About the Author
Ivan G. Petrovski leads the development of GNSS applications at iP-Solutions, Japan. He has over 25 years' worth of research and development experience in the GNSS field and has previously led GNSS-related R&D for DX Antenna, GNSS Technologies Inc., and the Institute of Advanced Satellite Positioning at TUMSAT. He has academic experience working as an associate professor with MAI and a guest professor with TUMSAT. As an engineer he has developed RTK software, pseudolite systems, instant positioning methods and algorithms, a real-time GNSS software receiver, GNSS signal recorder and RF signal simulator.

About the Author
Dr Fitzpatrick is a Reader in Biomedical Engineering at The University of West London, where he also leads the Biomedical Engineering Research Group. He has a BEng degree in Electronic Engineering, a PhD in Bioengineering and is a Chartered Electronics Engineer and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

His primary research interest is in the use of Functional Electrical Simulation (FES) for the restoration of bladder function and restoration of gait in stroke and spinal cord injured patients. His research focuses on the design and development of implantable medical systems. His recent book 'Analogue Design and Simulation using OrCAD Capture and PSpice', also published by Elsevier, has sold worldwide to highly acclaimed reviews in numerous prestigious electronic engineering journals such as EDN and Electronic Times and is officially endorsed by Cadence Design Systems.

OrCad bible

this is a must-have for anyone learning or using OrCad,

i downloaded the free version of OrCad - OrCad Lite from the Cadence website
and together with this book have successfully completed a range of electronis simulations and builds, some rather simple and some quite complicatited. it is easy to follow and apply as there are examples all the way through.
i have also used this book non-stop through my studies and would recomed it to anyone doing an electronics course.

A must have for learning to use OrCAD PSpice

This book is a perfect guide for learning PSpice tool. It explains step-by-step along with OrCAD screen pictures so that we can get ahead on learning the tool, instead of getting confused by those bad programming or computing stuff. What we want is to learn PSpice, not computer.

Author uses easy circuits to show great PSpice tool potential. We can draw it in minutes and simulate immediately. That's the shortest path in this learning. Except a couple of larger circuits which takes longer to find and place parts, no CD is required.

To learn PSpice 16.5, this is the best book I can find. And, I have searched through more than 10 other related books. Some interested ones I used less than 1 chapter and gave up for reasons of inaccuracy, missing importance step or information etc.

The book does have some minor typo's, a couple of missing or wrong component values, and wrong figure numbers. Kind of adding the fun of debugging and learning. Refer to PSpice manual (OrCAD help) if definition on terminology unclear, such as T_REL_LOCAL. These small things help me actually.

It's about an useful tool for long. Reading easy tends to forget soon. The book has the real feel and the touch for a person who is really doing it. Taking notes alongside can help in case need to come back later.

About the Author
Scott is a designer and developer that contributes to the Krita project. In 2014, Scott designed and developed the current Krita.org marketing website. He additionally assists in user interface design decisions and mockups for new features and improvements. You can find him in the Krita chat room (IRC) under the name scottyp. Scott started working on the book when he found the developers did not have enough time for documentation and training. Over the next year, Scott spent hundreds of hours researching how Krita works. This includes going over existing documentation, talking with the developers and artists frequently, studying the C++ code, and listening to common questions and problems people have with the application. This book is the result of his effort.

Digital Painting with Krita! AWESOME!

Krita is one of the best digital painting tools out there. I had wanted to get started with it for some time, but didn't know where to start. This book demystifies everything about it and really shows that this is a professional tool for artists to make great work! Buy this book!

I've been using Krita for over a year now, since it's a free alternative to other painting programs like Paint Tool Sai. It's been only getting bigger and better (disregarding some glitches), and at times, it can feel overwhelming. As a reference, I'm still an amateur artist.

So I decided to get this book, and I'm amazed about how many features I didn't know about. The book does a very good work at teaching the tools of the trade. While it doesn't really go into details about every specific of every tool, it teaches you what they're used for, and some practical tips every now and then. The books manages to show how Krita works for the inexperienced, and what a powerhouse it can be for the more advanced.

You can look at plenty of free tutorials on Youtube, but many of them mostly teach you how to do something specific. This is a very quick and easy to understand reference book, which doesn't overwhelm the starters, and give a better understanding of the new tools that those already familiar with digital painting might know.

I recommend getting this book if you're into drawing, painting, making comics or the like. Buying it also supports Krita's development, which, as of version 2.9.9 not covered in this book, added animating tools. I'm nor related to it's development whatsoever, but mostly a big fan and aspiring artist. Just download it and see for yourself.

I am generally pleased with this reference in that it has given me valuable insight into some of the inner workings of Krita. Krita 3.0 is the current version I am working with now and this ebook refers to version 2.9. I do not know if there is a radical difference between the two version. Soon, I will find out upon further reading. Seeing that Krita is a free software, I do not expect to see a whole lot of references. The online manual on Krita's website is difficult to discern and I am glad that someone made an effort to bring some explanations to Krita users
