I am extremly impressed with the knowledge and intellect used by VJ while writting his book. Whether you have children or not, involved in sports in any capacity or not, you should take the time to read Stop The Tusunami."The book isn't really about sports it is about life and community peacefull dreams" a statement made by VJ. My favorite part of his book is when VJ makes a statememt or when he asks a question. It is with great anticipation to read how VJ proves his statements and how he answers his own questions. VJ commented to me "it is about long term, when the sports are over is there a hangover" Interesting thought. Thank you VJ for enlighting our lives and getting us all thinking about the subject we most likely would have not done with out Stop The Tsunami

The author hits the nail on the head with his overview of the current state of youth sports in this country. For some reason parents and coaches alike have gotten the idea that "more is better" when it comes to playing and specializing in a sport at a young age. This book offers great insight to the many pitfalls of this problem in our youth sports society. In turn, the author offers a wide array of valuable alternatives for more meaningful outcomes to the problems that typically plague our youth athletes. I appreciate the fact that several experts in the field such as former players, physicians, coaches and athletic trainers are referenced with key practical information. Great read overall, I highly recommend this book to any parent or coach involved in youth athletics!

I read the first book when I was 10, thinking it was going to be boring. But it amazed me and has quickly become one of my favorites, even now at age 15. I had been anticipating a sequel for so long, and when I read this it lived up to my expectations. I hope Victoria writes a third installment, because this series has sobmuch potential.

I believe this book is an outstanding story the whole way through. It's a combination of excitement and adventure. I believe this to be the best series I have ever read. I hope there are more books to come, because I will never forget the supernatural abilities of these young children.

No other Auschwitz survivor has been as literarily powerful and historically influential as Primo Levi. Yet Levi was not only a victim or a witness. In the fall of 1943, at the very start of the Italian Resistance, he was a fighter, participating in the first attempts to launch guerrilla warfare against occupying Nazi forces. Those three months have been largely overlooked by Levi's biographers; indeed, they went strikingly unmentioned by Levi himself. For the rest of his life he barely acknowledged that autumn in the Alps. But an obscure passage in Levi’s The Periodic Table hints that his deportation to Auschwitz was linked directly to an incident from that time: “an ugly secret” that had made him give up the struggle, “extinguishing all will to resist, indeed to live.”

What did Levi mean by those dramatic lines? His small partisan band, it appears, had turned on itself, committing a brutal act against two of its own members. Using that shocking episode as a starting point, Sergio Luzzatto offers a rich examination of the early days of the Resistance, when the nascent movement struggled to define its role. Combining investigative flair with profound empathy, he traces vivid portraits of both rebels and Nazi collaborators, showing how their fates continued to be intertwined into the postwar years.
